Fall, The - Real New Fall LP Formerly 'Country On The Click' (Red Yellow Swirl Vinyl LP)
One of The Fallās most infamous albums is final re- issued in its original intended running order on vinyl. ⢠āThe Real New Fall LP (Formerly Country on the Click)ā is the 23rd studio album by The Fall. ⢠Originally released in the UK in 2003, recorded at Lisa Stansfieldās Gracieland Studios between December 2002 and January 2003 with producer Grant Showbiz. The subtitle is explained by the fact that the tracks were originally scheduled for release in April 2003 under the title āCountry on the Clickā. Promotional copies were sent out and three of the new songs were previewed in the bands 23rd Peel Session, but Mark E Smith was unhappy with the mix and decided it needed further work. Pitchfork called it āas valuable an album as anything The Fall ever released in the 1990sā and stated that āSmithās lyrics are at a near career-best of insolence and nonsense.ā AllMusic wrote that the album āgives the faithful another reason to believeā
The Guardian viewed Smith as being āon magnificently mad form
Uncut called it āGreat by Smithās standards
Practically genius by everybody elseās.ā MOJO reviewed it as āas good as anything in this groups monstrous catalogueā
Pop Matters called it ātheir best record in a decade. This is the first time this album has been released on vinyl in this original intended running order, as the original 2003 pressing was pressed with the wrong running order and was never corrected ā until NOW! Released on red yellow vinyl especially for RSD.
